17/03/2009 - Rousse-Varna railway line

NET Engineering SpA has been awarded the project to redefine the Rousse-Varna railway line by the Bulgarian National Railway Infrastructure Company, for an amount of about 2,210,000 euro in a consortium with Eurotransproject.

In particular, NET Engineering and Eurotransproject will provide their services for improving the design parameters of the Rousse-Varna railway line that is slit into two distinct sections: the single-track Kaspichan-Rousse, 97 km long, and the double-track Kaspichan - Varna, 135 km long.
 
Currently, passenger and freight trains run on the total 232 km of the line at an average speed of 66.5 kilometers per hour.
 
The project includes the improvement of these parameters, through traffic study, cost-benefit analysis and the development of a detailed project proposal in order to subsequently subcontract the works.

NET Engineering will be in charge of executing the analysis and assessment of transport demand, the technical design for the rehabilitation of the railway line as far as signalling and electrification are concerned, the assistance in awarding the contract for safety system and telecommunications.
